Founded in 2022 by a middle schooler, our team is made up entirely of high school and college students looking to kickstart their career and develop abilities, experience, and complex portfolios in the industry. PRESIDENT & CEO | CHIEF LIGHTING DESIGNER
David founded Preston Lighting in the Autumn of 2022 after booking his first job with his local community theater company, and since then has led the business and its operations as the President, optimizing and developing the company throughout the years. Additionally, he leads our technical department as our award-winning Chief Lighting Designer and Technical Supervisor.
VICE PRESIDENT & COO | LIGHTING DESIGNER
Cecelia first joined Preston Lighting in 2023 after completing one of our Educational Courses. She was first hired as a Lighting Technician, then was promoted to Lighting Designer after receiving her certification in 2025, and finally was promoted to Vice President & Chief Operating Officer in June of 2026. Throughout the years Cecelia has been an indispensable asset to Preston Lighting and has proven herself a very reliable and committed member of the team.
TREASURER & CFO
While loosely involved from the beginning, Diane officially joined the Preston Lighting team as the Treasurer & Chief Financial Officer in November of 2025. Since then, she has revolutionized and optimized Preston Lighting's operations, corporate structure, and financial layout. Diane is a certified CPA and Attorney, who received both her CPA license and Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia.
LIGHTING TECHNICIAN
After completing one of our Educational Courses, Maya Cappiello officially joined the team in September of 2025. Through her employment, Maya has proven to be a reliable and capable member of the Preston Lighting family, offering outstanding performance and knowledge, and generous commitment to Preston Lighting's operations. After graduating Bloomfield High School, Maya is continuing her academic journey at the Ramapo College of New Jersey.
GENERAL TECHNICIAN
Sofie showed interest in working for Preston Lighting after working audio and mics on several productions with us. She was then recruited in January of 2026, and after some basic training, she was onboarded as a General Technician. She has since proven to be a valuable member of the team, showing significant commitment and dedication, and turning out be a very reliable staff member.
GENERAL ASSISTANT
June joined the Preston Lighting family after completing an educational course in March of 2025. After first joining the team as a Lighting Technician, she performed very well and showed significant dedication to her employment. Since then, she has migrated to be a General Assistant, and continues to perform very well and give dedication and effort to her Preston Lighting employment.
