A quick course to give you a basic, acceptable understanding of lighting and entertainment technology. Typically between 3-4 sessions and about 10-12 hours of instruction, this course will give you everything you need to know to design lights for your next show or party.

An advanced course which covers all aspects of lighting and dives into other parts of entertainment tech as well. This course generally is 9-12 sessions and 20-24 hours of instruction. This will give you an advanced understanding on anything and everything lighting, with basic coverage of electrical fundamentals, audio concepts, visual design, and more!

A deeper look into the concepts of lighting and visual design. Will give you an even deeper understanding of lighting concepts and develop your knowledge to encompass all aspects of the industry. This course generally runs 3-4 sessions and 10-12 hours of instruction, and generally demands a prerequisite understanding of lighting concepts and industry. This course is also often offered in connection with our Lighting Designer Certification.

Our general technical course will give a basic understanding of all aspects of entertainment technology, such as lighting, audio, video, photography, set/props, and more! This course consists of 5-6 sessions and 14-18 hours of instruction.

In addition to premade educational courses, Preston Lighting offers hourly instruction. This involves a schedule and hours determined by the student, and the instruction is paid for on an hourly basis. This is our most flexible plan, allowing the student to completely control their scheduling and instruction materials.
